Ross Betts
Senior Associate
Ross Betts graduated from Mississippi College School of Law in 2005 and promptly moved to Texas to pursue a career in the oil and gas industry. In Dallas, he began working with a small but sophisticated partnership of professional landmen and geologists involved in virtually every aspect of upstream operations. There he learned to navigate many aspects of land and legal work, from negotiating leases and surface use agreements to curing title defects and participating in joint operations. Now, having specialized in mineral title examination for over 15 years, and with extensive experience in the Permian Basin, Ross has gained valuable perspective counseling clients and addressing title matters from acquisition through the payment of proceeds from production. Ross joined Abert Caraway in 2019 and is licensed in Texas, Louisiana and Pennsylvania. He has been married to Leigh Anne since 2005 and together they have 2 children, John Ross and Lucy. Between soccer and volleyball games, Ross can likely be found training his labrador, Saint, or otherwise engaged in a variety of outdoor pursuits.
